Marcasite gained rapid popularity in the Victorian era, as Queen Victoria would wear Marcasite jewellery as a more affordable option to Diamonds.
Marcasite is also known as White Iron Pyrite due to it's similar metallic appearance to the 'Fools Gold' Pyrite Mineral.
Marcasite was first known to be used by the ancient Incas, where Marcasite jewellery has been found in many burial chambers
